THEME: Hebsgaard's Progessive Wine Journey
Our first stop was the home of Carolyn Hebsgaard. In Diva style, Carolyn prepared lovely appetizers and popped the cork on our favorite sparkling wine from Italy called Prosecco. We chatted and laughed while each of us arrived. We nibbled on cheese, hot bread, fig spread and chutney. Our second stop was Caroyln's wine cellar. Here we tasted each wine that would be available at dinner. Our favorite was a beautiful Pinot Noir from Washington State. It was as smooth as velvet and full of ripe fruit. We could have consummed the whole bottle. The DivasOur third stop was a lovely neighborhood restaurant called Maxwell's at 144 Main St. in Natick, MA. Of course, Carolyn arranged a small van to get us there. This quaint place has an interesting menu. It is Italian and Asian. The food was fabulous! Our fourth stop was the hot tub and sauna back at the Hebsgaard's home. We closed the evening with a nice glass of wine and laughter together. Some of us watched the Bodyguard with Whitney Houston to put us to sleep. Of course we spent the night after all of the food and wine. Our fifth and final stop was a beautful brunch the following morning. Carolyn prepared a wonderful potato cassarole with fresh fruit and coffee cake. We sat and talked until 2pm before we all headed home with wonderful memories of the weekend.Great food, wine and friends...
